Good evening! I am preparing a web site for a Realtor Client. 80% of them use Netscape 6+ at their desk or at home. So.... I tested the demo site that I am working on and when I click on the 'my homepage' guess what? What is displayed is the SOURCE CODE! All other pages are displayed Okay! (i.e. html). What's the solution? Begee Demo site is at http://www.begee.com/wright/jane.htm This is the opening welcome page.

Hi Begee, I tried your link but I got a Page Not Found. Double check the URL? Usually when a page displays the source code it's because the page is a server side script, and the server doesn't know how to correctly process it... but you're saying it's an html file? Whoa. Post the link again and I'll take a look at it. Ben interactivetools.com

Hi Ben. Sorry for responding so late but I took a short holiday! Here is the correct link. Seems I left the s off begee. http://www.begees.com/wright/jane.htm The above link takes you to what will be their intro page which displays okay. After the intro you are re-directed to ../../wright/jane2.html. This page displays okay also. Now click on 'Our Agents' on the menu bar. This page loads okay also. Now click on one of the 'View My Homepage' links. This is where the problem occurs. Also when I look at the files stored in the 'homepages' folder on the server, they are displayed (icon) as 'binary' files? Does RM do this? rather than displaying them as html? Will check back this evening on this.... a busy day ahead. Later .... BeGee

Okay I found the problem. When you are adding a new user and you want to specify the homepage rather than RM creating a 10099.html page, you must put the extension on - i.e., html. If you just put the name without the extension it creates a 'binary' file! If you go to the 'Our Agent' page I described in my previous post and scroll down to the bottom where I entered a Test Page. This one has the .html extension when I created it. Not sure if anybody else has done this or just let RM create the page. They wanted their name so they can publish it on their business cards. Maybe a 'check routine' in the RM homepage to make sure the .html or .htm is there or put some text on the form that says to put the extension on if you give the page a name. Funny, IE will display it correctly but NE6.2 doesn't. Later.... BeGee

Hi BeGee, Glad it all worked out! Having some sort of additional filename verification is a good suggestion, though - I'll pass it along :-) Ben interactivetools.com
