More stupid questions Can't Post

I'm really feeling dumb here but when I want to customize the pages for listings and agents etc.... I use the templates and then save them as templates or do I find the folder and save as the index??? It only says modify the template in the instructions but that didn't do anything. Also, what happens if down the line 100 listings later we want to add a field? Can that be done with out messing the other listings up?

Hi,

Thanks for posting! :)

You would save them as templates. When modifying your templates, make sure you modify the actual template files in the /templates directory and maintain the same naming convention. For example, if you modify the _publish_listing.html template file, you'll want to save it in the /tempaltes directory as _publish_listing.html.

Whenever you're done making changes to your template files, log into the program, go to the Setup Options, and click each of the 4 publish buttons once each. This is done so your existing listings and homepages can adopt the changes you've made to your template files.

One thing that I find important when modifying the template files is to test and make backups often. Therefore, if you make a mistake on the template that causes the program to no longer work you can always revert back to a backup you made five minutes ago instead of possibly losing hours of work. :)

This can definitely be done, and it won't mess anything up. What you would do is log into Realty Manager, go to the Setup Options -> Setup Listing Fields, and create your new field. You would then add the new fields appropriate placeholder (e.g. $lfieldx$ where x is the field number) to your listings and search results template files. Once done you would click all 4 Publish buttons in the Setup Options, and all new and old listings would be updated with the new field.

Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions. :)
