Missing Picture Captions Can't Post

Hi everyone

When I upload images and enter a caption for each image these captions are missing when I view the listing pages. Can anyone help me to activate the missing captions? What should I be looking for?

If you need a link to the website please PM me

Thanks

Re: [AussieT] Missing Picture Captions [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi AussieT,

The image captions are displayed using the $desc$ placeholder within your image template cell. Chances are this isn't on your listing template right now, so just add that into your image template cell where you'd like the the caption to appear. Smile

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me which file is my listing template and what should I search for to find the "image template cell"? As I said I am totally new to Listings Manager. - Thanks

EDIT: Well I ran a few searches and found what looks like 'my' listing template.. publish_listing.html

In the <!-- templatecell : image --> section of this page I have the following code:

<img src="$listing_url$/images/$thumbnail$" width=$thumbnail_width$ border=1 alt="Photo" style="border-width: 0; " align="center"></a></td>

I assume it should look more like this:

<img src="$listing_url$/images/$thumbnail$" width=$thumbnail_width$ border=1 alt="Photo"></a><br><font face="ms sans serif" size=1>$desc$</font><br>

This is the code I found on a more generic page layout that I found in a different folder.

So do I just add the blue code in place of the red code on 'my' listing template? Will this work?

And if so how do I get the $desc$ to show on all the already 700 published pages? How do I regenerate these Html static pages?

Hi there,

Thanks for your post. :)

Yep, you've got it -- adding in that $desc$ tag will do it.

To recreate your listings, go into the Setup Options and click "Re-publish all listings" (there are four buttons there -- if you click all four, it will recreate the entire site based on your current templates.)

I hope this helps. :)
