Hi, I am in the process of configuring RM to be used on a for sale by owner site. Can I set it up that a visiting user can log in and create their own listing? Also is it possible to merge use some of the place holders on _publishing_homepages.html on _publishing_lisings.html? I am trying to get a users contact info onto the listing page. Any help you can give is much appreciated. Regards Nick

Hi Nick, Thanks for your post! :-) First, since you're doing a FSBO site, you'll probably want to make use of our automatic signup script (which I've attached to this post). This script allows users to create a Realty Manager account directly from your website, without having to go through you. That way it's immediate and doesn't require you constantly having to manually set up new accounts. The attached zipfile contains a readme.txt file that has installation instructions. Concerning your second requirement, with version 2.29 (currently in Beta release) all homepage fields are available to the listings pages too. We plan on releasing the final version in about a weeks time, so I would suggest waiting until then, then upgrading your Realty Manager. Hope this helps! Ben interactivetools.com

Hi Benjamin, Thanks for the reply. I shall eagerly await the relase of the 2.29. I might be going mad but I can't seem to find the attachment you refer to for the signup script. Regards Nick

Hi Ben, Another question that I hope you have a solution for. Given that I am integrating RM into a fbso site is there any way of branding the rm interface with my site design? At the moment I have a big jump in the look of the pages from my site into the RM software which I would like to overcome if possible. Any advice opr tips would be appreciated. Regards, Nick. PS sign up script works great - thanks.

Hey Nick, Glad the signup script works well. :-) First of all, under "customizable options" in your Setup Options, you can change the default footer and header text to whatever you want - effectively branding your interface pages. That's a nice quick fix, but if you need to go into more depth with your changes, you'll need to actually modify the templates comprising your interface. With 2.29, the interface template pages are now stored in a separate /interface directory within your /templates directory. By editing the templates in this directory, you have complete control over how your interface looks. With 2.28 and previous, the entire interface appearance and structure is stored in a single file: interface.dat.cgi in your /data directory. This - as people have found out - can be extremely troublesome to edit, hence the new separate /interface templates. So I suppose, again, I'd recommend waiting for the final release of 2.29 before starting working on your interface, since any changes you make to your current interface.dat.cgi file won't be reflected in your upgraded version. Hope that gives you some pointers. Ben interactivetools.com
