Log In + Custom Search Query Can't Post

Hello,

I’m thinking about purchasing this product, but before I do, I wanted to find out if I can do the following. I would like to use this software for my real estate referral business. It would be a way for my referral agents to track the status of their referrals. I would like to have the ability for the referral agents to login and be taken right to their search results pages that would have only their referrals listed. I see form other postings on the forum that I can create a custom search query, so I would be able to create a search based on the referral agent. So I guess my real question is can I have the agent when they login be taken to their custom search query search results page? I’m only looking for the agents to view the listings and not make any changes. Example; the referring agents name is John Smith. He has given me 2 referrals. John goes to my website and logs in and it takes him to the search results page that has his 2 listings only. I would like to thank you in advance for your time on this question.

Re: [dmarcey] Log In + Custom Search Query [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your post. Smile

If you don't need these agents to modify their own listings in any way, there would actually be no need for them to login to Realty Manager at all. What you could do is provide them with a link to a search results page that only returns their listings. If you needed to password-protect these pages, I could show you a way to set this up as long as your server supports password-protected web pages.

Let me know if you need anything else!

Jake,

Thanks for answering my question. If you could show me how to password protect the pages that would be great. I would like to have my referral agents’ log-in to view their listings. Thanks again for your time on this.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your reply. Smile

Typically you would password protect your pages by placing the files in an secure http directory on your server. This is something you might need to set up through your hosting control panel. If you're not sure how to do this, try dropping your hosting company an email and ask them how you could set this up.

Re: [Jake] Log In + Custom Search Query [In reply to] Can't Post

Jake,

Thanks again for the reply. So I would not be able to use Realty Manager to handle the logins? I would have to use a third party script to provide access to the secure folders?

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the follow-up!

That's correct, folder password protection would be handled by a third party script or thorugh your hosting control panel. :)
