Image Size Guidelines?

The default is 60 kb, what is a reasonable upload size to avoid long viewer response time? Storage problems? I see in other forum responses that images should be 72 pixels/inch. Need to provide guidelines to client so that they adjust camera settings. Trying to avoid photo editing by client and allow them to upload from camera.

Hi ThreeTree, It is indeed a good idea for images to be at 72 dpi when viewed on a screen. Beyond that, you'll probably want to give them some type of dimension restriction. A good rule of thumb would be to limit the largest dimension of the image to around 500 or 600 pixels - anything beyond that is a bit large for web content however there is no hard and fast rule about this. By keeping those two guidelines in mind, you should be able to strike a pretty consistent balance between image quality and loading times on your site. Let us know if you have any other questions. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
