Couple questions Can't Post

I am new to RM and have a couple questions.
Firstly, I can't seem to find a way to limit the amount of images shown on the listing index page.
Am I overlooking something or is this not possible?

Secondly, I would like to allow agents to post a limit of 5 listings per month. I see how this is done thru the usermanager interface. But I have found a workaround that I wish I didn't Crazy

If the agent has reached his max listings (in my case 5) he can then log in and modify and existing listing, effectively replacing an old listing with a new one without PAYING ME. Sly

Re: [Cynthia] Couple questions [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Cathy,

On the listing index page there is one image (preview image) per listing. You can't set the number of listings that appear in the listing index but you could link to search results that set the number of listings that would appear per page.

To do this, click the "Search Listings" button in the search engine page and copy the URL. It will look something like this example:

http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/rm/exec/search.cgi?search=1&perpage=10&sort_order=1%2Cabc%2Cforward&marknew=1&lfield5_min=&lfield5_max=&lfield9_min=&lfield9_max=&lfield10_min=&lfield10_max=&l
field8_keyword=&user_num=&shownew=&search=++Search+Listings
++

Now in your URL, the listings per page result is set for 10 and looks like this: "perpage=10"
Change it to the number of listings you want to appear per page and add the full URL as a link to one of your existing webpages. You can use a shorter search URL if you don't require all the search details.

For users, you can set a maximum listing limit and a user account expiry date. You are right that a user can modify and erase existing listings but after the users account has expired they will no longer be able to log in to create/modify listings. A monthly fee for access to the create/modify listings might be an interesting alternative. This would allow users to add/modify listings for one month but they would have to pay per month for access.
