Checkbox Questions

In my search box on my site, users can search for either new property or used , by clicking the correct check box. (Inside the setup options inside the system I have managed to get it to work by having a separate field for both new and used , each with their own check box box with Yes next to it.In other words , the estate agent just needs to tick either box to indicate if the property he is advertising is used or new.) I would have thought seeing that they are 2 separate fields that if the searcher ticked both boxes because they wanted to search both new and used that i would get all the results. Right now i get none? Neither new or used? Is my thinking flawed or is it something I'm not doing right and it is possible. Are there any posts that explain using check boxes correctly , or documentation?

To add to this - i have noticed that some of my thumbnails in the displayed search results have become all distorted and slightly larger than they should be. This is with the photos that are taken in an upright pose - opposite of a landscape layout. I have set my thumb nails inside the system to - 100 x 80 max width , max height.Image Magick 5.43 has been detected and auto create thumbnails is ticked. Is there a way to prevent the images from becoming distorted , and to keep all thumbnails looking uniform and clear? Any Ideas? Thanks

Hi Buscar, The way to have them search both new & used would actually to be to leave them both unchecked. The way the search engine works is that Listings Manager is searching on all of the keywords you've entered... which means it would be looking for any listing that includes the keyword "new" and the keyword "used" -- which, of course, is none of them. Basically, what you're doing is specifying a keyword. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Thanks Donna, I understand , although i was praying you had a different answer for me. I will have to find another way round it. With regards to the thumbnail issue i have - are you able to shed some light on that? Thanks Again. Mike

Hi Mike, Can you provide a link to a few of the distorted thumbnails (and one or two that aren't so I can compare?) There's a few reasons why they might be coming out odd, but seeing how they look will narrow it down. :) Donna
