Cannot upload image to Listings/Images

Just installed Rm but had to move program 'images' dir out of the CGI-BIN path and onto the root as the images could not be read. Also did same for 'homepages' and 'listings' as per Installation documentation. So now the paths are - /rm/images /rm/homepages etc. /rm/lsitings etc. All abovementioned dir security is 777. I think the problem lies in the variable "Listings Directory Path" in setup. I have tried everything that I could think of, long and short and in between. Current directory is /home/virtual/site271/fst/var/www/cgi-bin/rm/exec so says setup. I have tried the following among many things, but the darn thing will not upload my images. ../listings ../listings/ ../../listings/ /home/virtual/site271/fst/var/www/rm/listings/ etc. etc. I think you get the picture. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Have you tried this path? ../../../listings From the information that you've provided in this post, it looks like that's the path that you need to use to setup your listings directory (same type of path for the homepages directory). If you try that and it doesn't work, let me know and I'll see what else I can come up with. :) Mike Roulston interactivetools.com

Yes the combinations have been ../ ../../ ../../../ ../../../../ and EACH one above has been tried with EVERY one below listings listings/ rm/listings rm/listings/ I'm no perl expert but I believe it may have problems with paths depending on which way the wind is blowing :) I think I'll go for the free installation, but I'll wait for a reply to this post first. Hi Tom, I have definitely run into some really bizarre path problems with various server configurations. Hardly anything surprises me anymore. Without actually logging into your server and looking for myself, it's difficult to say what's going on there. I think that the best thing would be for you to fill out an installation request on our website and I'll take a closer look and see what's going on. Just add "Attn. Mike" into the comments of the request form so that it finds it's way to me... I'm particularly interested in finding out what the problem is with this situation. Mike Roulston interactivetools.com

Same thing slowing me down... I'm hosted at Dotster. Can you tell what my data path for homepages should be? I can't use the one in the cgi-bin folder exec is located at: /webspace/cgi-bin/listman/exec homepages needs to be here: /webspace/httpdocs/welcomehome/listman/homepages But none of the usual ../ or../../ or ../../../ seem to work...

Hi Matt, I think I had just replied to your email about this. From what you've outlined the directory path you'll want to use for "Homepages" will be: ../../../httpdocs/welcomehome/listman/homepages Let me know how this works out for you!
