Hi everyone, I've been researching how to best add multiple languages. If you'd like to help beta test a multi-language CMS Builder please post below and include the language you can translate into. Thanks! Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Djulia and aev, thanks! I was thinking we could start out with all the common words and phrases and proceed from there. I didn't want to do all the uncommon error messages and such. So this would be: modify, erase, save, etc Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Hi Djulia, I'm going to work on the code, and then when it's ready I'll send you a private beta you can try out with a language file you can translate. Hopefully next week I'll have this ready. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Hi Djulia and aev (and others), I've attached a file 'fr.php' to this post with a few (4) language strings to show you the format. I just used Google Translate so my translations are likely wrong. :) What I'd like you to do is update the existing strings and add any new ones you'd like to see in the multi-language version. The file is in UTF-8 so let me know if you have any problems opening it. The basic format is like this: ### Default Text => Translation Text 'Cancel' => 'Annuler', 'Save' => 'Sauver', 'Create' => 'Créer', 'Refresh' => 'Actualiser', The text on the left is what's in the program now, the text on the right is the translation for your language. So if you wanted to add the french translation for 'Left' you'd add: 'Left' => 'Gauche', Just create a new language file (or post if you have problems with the file), name if after your language code and attach it to this thread then I'll make it work. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions. Update: I've updated the attach language file for anyone who wants to use this as a starting point. Hi Dave, You can say to me if it is reasonable for you ? There are limits for you for the selection of the texts ? Thanks, Djulia

Hi Djulia, Looks good, I've made all these work in the program and went through and made any adjustments needed. I'll send you a private message with a link to download a beta version. To upgrade all you need to do is upload the /lib/ folder (make a backup first) and then set your language under: Admin > Regional Settings. Let me know any additional text we missed, problems you have, etc. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Hi cosmic_ant, Yes, that's would be great. It's a work in progress, I'll attach the latest french translation. You'll see the english on the left and the translations on the right. Just replace the french with spanish then email it back to me at dave@interactivetools.com and I'll double check everything and send you the next beta build. Thanks again, let me know if you have any other questions. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Hi Jamtc, That's great. You can find the language files in /cmsAdmin/lib/languages/ Just follow the instructions in "how_to_add_languages.txt" and then send us a copy of your translation when you're done and we'll add it to the distribution. Let me know if you have any questions about anything. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Thanks! I'll add that to the next release. I'll also add the pt language files with the wysiwyg as well. Do you think you could translate /lib/languages/forgotPasswordEmail.default.php as well? Just save it as: forgotPasswordEmail.pt.php Thanks! Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
