Geo Position site Can't Post

Hi from Portugal,

Sorry the bad english.

I live in Azores, a group of islands and i whant to make a website that i can create articles with google maps geoPosition.

The menu structure its someting like this:

ISLAND 1
- cofe places
- swiming pools
- discos
- hotels

ISLAND 2
- cofe places
- swiming pools
- discos
- hotels

ISLAND 3
- cofe places
- swiming pools
- discos
- hotels

ISLAND 4
- cofe places
- swiming pools
- discos
- hotels

.....

The categories are all the same for every island.
When i click in ISLAND 2 -> cofe places -> john´s cofe place. Here i can see the john´s cofe place title, description and most important, the google maps location.

My site will be something like the yellow pages.

The main objective its later to see one of the island with lots of google maps markers. This is a turism website, imagine a turist planing the trip here, he will go to the website and check on of the islands "hum... let me see where are all the museums of this island"

Can i do this with cmsBuilder?

tks

Re: [rui] Geo Position site [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello rui,

CMSB can indeed power a website such as the one you have described.

CMSB has been used for several Travel and Tourism websites http://www.interactivetools.com/showcase/?categories=9 in the past.

CMSB also has a plugin available for geocoding http://www.interactivetools.com/add-ons/detail.php?Geocoder-1034 enabling you to calculate distances between two places stored as records in your database or easily create links to google maps with the location 'pinned'.

If you'd like to explore your options in more detail, please email us at sales@interactivetools.com and we'll work out what's best for you.

Thanks,

Tom

I can vouch for the geocoder plug in for CMBS. Like so much else coming from Interactive Tools, it's actually deceptively simple.

We've used it to good effect on one long-standing site and are now implementing it for another project.

Best of luck!
