Feature request: Optional thumbnail creation behavior

Hi! We would like to have en optional thumbnail creation behavior. We would like to be able to specify that thumbnails should be at least XXpx wide and XXpx high. What this means is that if we specify 80x80 for the thumbs and upload a 600x400 image we get a 120x80 thumbnail = at least 80 for the shortest side. These thumbnails will work great for certain designs. We can put them inside a 80x80 div with overflow set to hidden, this way we would get beautiful always square thumbnails. (If we accept loosing a part of the image.) It would also be great to have when loading thumbnails dynamically into flash files where we need to fill out a certain area, similar to the 80x80 div above. -aev-

Hi aev, Are all your images the same layout (horizontal or vertical)? If so you can do this by setting the thumbnail values to 999x80. Let me know if that would work for you. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Hi Dave, no, they are mixed. And since it will be our clients doing the uploads, there is no way we can control that. This is not just related to one specific case, we would like to have this option for general use. I see a lot of possibilities with such a feature. -aev-

Hi aev, We're already discussing this via email so let's just continue the conversation there. I'll post an update here later if we can figure something out. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
