AutoBackup: whole database or just tables with cms_ prefix? Can't Post
Will autoBackup copy all the tables in the database or just tables with the cms_ prefix?

Hi,

The Auto Backup creates backups of all your CMS Builder database tables only.

If you have other tables in the database not created or used by CMS Builder, they won't be backed up by the Auto Backup plugin.

Can AutoBackup be altered to backup the whole database (tables not created by cmsb)?

Hi,

AutoBackup uses database backup functions that are built into CMS Builder, so to be able to backup tables not created by CMS Builder, you would have to actually change CMS Builder's code.

A better approach would be to contact your hosting provider. They can probably advise you on what database backup functionality they have available for you to backup the entire database.

There are two people on the plane and I only have one parachute. I own (and like) autobackup so I'd like to make it work for everything.

Is it a simple hack?

What is your policy on plugin refunds?

Hi,

Not sure exactly what would be required to make the plugin work for the entire database but I will look into it and post you an update.

Probably not and ideally any solution would be built into the plugin as an additional feature so any one with the plugin could upgrade to use it.

We have the same refund policy for plugins as our software which is 90 days.

Hi Mark,

Adding the option to backup an entire database (not just the CMS Builder tables) using the AutoBackup plugin has been added to our development schedule and we should have a patch posted here towards the end of next week.

Stay tuned. I will post a reply here with code changes when it is available.
