Ok be nice as I just took over an existing 1.41 server at work as the last guy left. We have windows, IIS and everything seems to work fine on the existing site. I tried the 2.01 upgrade and got "The page cannot be found" with the following URL... http://host/cgi-bin/artman2/utils/$_cgiurl$ what am I missing? Any help would be great. Thanks. Kev

Which url are you accessing? Make sure you're accessing the program through your webserver and you're running the cgi script. The link should look something like this: http://host/cgi-bin/artman2/utils/upgradeFromVersion1_41.cgi Hope that helps! Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

ok, I just ran that and I got "the page cannot be displayed" http 500 - internal server error. I assume the webserver is not setup to run cgi extensions?

Ok, I got through what I think is configuring the web server. I get the cgi to run but up in red it says... Article Manager v2.01 isn't installed yet. You must complete the install process first before upgrading! Installing is just throwing the directories out there right?

You're almost there! Just run admin.cgi first and it will take you through an install process. Then run the upgrade script after. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Thanks. I'm all set. One last question. does everything run out of artman2 directory now? If so can I delete the old artman and rename artman2 to artman? Thanks for all your help. kev

You can. You'll need to login and change some of the directory paths in the Admin > Server settings once you do that. Just from /artman2/ to /artman/ . Another option is just to keep it where it is and have it publish to the old publish location. One tip though, don't erase the artman1 directory for a while, just rename it "artman1_old" or something. It's always a good practice to hangon to backups for a little while.
