limit the number of pages on Home Page

I couldn't find anything in the forum so I figured it was best to ask. Via the "next page" link I can navigate three or so subsequent pages from my Home Page. Suppose I wanted only one page for my Home Page, how would I achieve that step? I see how I can limit the number of articles which appear on the Home Page, but I want the flexibility to limit the Home Page to just one page of articles of say 10 but with no "next page". Thanks - jpea1

Hi again . Thanks for posting! I am not 100% sure if I follow though. From the sounds of it you have some listings appearing on your homepage and what to limit them. How were you getting your listings to appear on the homepage? Was it with an SSI? Perhaps you could post or email me (support@interactivetools.com) a link to your homepage so I can see how it's setup? Either way, I look forward to hearing from you . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Hi Ross, I was able to figure it out. What was happening was every article I had was appearing on the home page through a series of "next page" links. I realized that this just can't be "the AM2 way", and I needed to find the means to limit the articles. The answer was in the Global Index where I filtered the specific categories with articles I wanted to appear on the Home Page. And I discovered the same can be done with categories (Category Index?). It works just great and will greatly improve my use of AM2. I was thinking...would it be possible to put together a "Quick Start" overview on how to work through the various indexes? If you want to achieve this, do this sort of learn by doing approach. I haven't found much on this key topic and my sense it would probably be extremely well received particularly for those eager to jump right in and/or for those wanting to harness what I see as one of the single most powerful aspects of AM2 - mastering the filtering capabilities to achieve maximum control over lots of content with numerous variables associated - all with the greatest level of ease! Thanks Ross - jpea1

Hi there! Yep -- you'll be happy to know that creating a quick start guide almost exactly as you've described is definitely on our to-do list. :) Alas, answering regular support questions has a higher priority, so it hasn't quite been done yet. Soon, I hope! Donna
