on all of my pages i want to limit the headlines included so the web page doesn't go on and on and on. for instance, on my front page, i want to limit the headlines to no more than 3. on another page, no more than 25. i'm including headlines using the category headline script. can you tell me how i can limit headlines. thanks, renee.

Hi Renee, Thanks for your post. :) What you'd want to do is create new publish rules for each of the headline sets you want to use. So, one of the publish rules would specify only headlines 1-3 would show up, another would specify that headlines 1-10 show up. Take a look at the existing headlines publish rule to see how it's currently formatted. You'll find these in "Admin" under "Publishing". There are three different headline files published by default -- one for the top headlines in a specific category (Category Headlines), one for the top headlines overall (Global Headlines), and one for the top three headlines from each category (Articles for Grouped Headlines). Give that a try and let me know if it works for you. :) Donna

thank you so much donna, i get it. and i had no clue what the global and group were for so now i get them too. but i still see a problem. if i adjust my category headlines to 1-10, that limits all categories. but on the frontpage of my website i want my categories to only show 3 headlines, while on their individual pages, i want the categories to show 25 headlines, and the subcategories to show 6 headlines. how in the world can i do that. think of my website as a newswire just like google news, or cnn. the number of headlines you see for a category changes depending on what page you're looking at.

Hi Renee, That's right -- so what you'll want to do is create *new* publish rules for each headline list you want. You can use the same template, and everything else about the publish rule will be the same, but you'll change how many results you get depending on the publish rule. :) Donna
