I am getting an internal server error whenever I try to execute the search.cgi (next>> buttons and search box) I checked permissions on the server and they are set to 755. Any ideas?

Hi sbarger, Thanks for the post! If the admin.cgi script is working fine with the same permissions and you've double checked these it's strange that the search.cgi script isn't working. One thing I'd suggest is to try re-uploading and resetting the permissions on this script to see if maybe the search.cgi script was corrupted when you were uploading this file. One other thing you may want to check is that this isn't related to the Dynamic parsing on the search pages. You can test this by logging into Article Manager, and clicking Admin->General Settings. From there you'll want to check the setting for "Dynamic SSI and Code Parsing". I'm not sure which setting you're on right now, but you'll want to try changing this to the option that currently isn't selected. Then you can click "Save" and try the search again. Let me know how this works or if you have any other questions or comments! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Mike, I tried both and no luck (switched the "Dynamic SSI and Code Parsing" from "Emulated" to "Server Resolved") Any other ideas? I think this has been a problem since I updated to the most recent version of AM2, if that has anything to do with it. Scott

Hi Scott, Try re-uploading the search.cgi file again and re-adjust the permissions to see if that solves the issue. You can also take a look at your server's error log to see what kinds of error messages are being generated when you go to search.cgi (the log will have more detailed error reports). If you still can't solve this, send us a support request and we can take a look: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi Don't hesitate to contact us! ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

I've suddenly got the same problem on several sites hosted by the same hosting provider, and I'm wondering if this might be a problem with newer Perl versions or other hosting configurations? I've got no answer from them yet about any recent changes to their server (now being late in the evening), but this happened to sites that haven't been changed at all since they worked earlier on.

Hi Geir, Thanks for posting! I had just replied to your email and just wanted to quickly post here in the forum as well. As far as I can tell everything is back up and running on your server now so this seems like it was most likely a temporary issue on the server. I'm glad that everything is back up and running on your site and if you do have any other questions or comments, just let me know! Got a reply from my provider. They had updated the Linux kernel to version 2.6.24.2, and some way or other they got a problem for all services accessing files on other domains then the one the script was running on, so I suppose somewhere in the search.cgi a file on another domain is accessed.

Still no luck with this issue. Is it support request time?
