Do you know what stage that's coming from? Is it when it's importing users, categories, articles, archives? My guess is one of the records doesn't have a year specified somehow and the upgrade script doesn't know what to do with it so it's stopping. If you could find out which record it was, and add a year, that would probably fix it. Failing that we can get in there and have a look for you if you want to fill out the support form: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

I fixed that error... dummy articles with no category, etc. info. Deleted them and fixed the issue. Now, getting this: Error: invalid insert: manual sequencing - 1 of the insert records have sequence numbers that already exist in database! at (eval 157) line 43. :(

Are you starting the upgrade process from the beginning or just reloading the last page? The upgrade script should clear out all the articles in the 2.00 database and then import into a clean empty database. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Well... it stops when the page doesn't auto reload. And often times it times out while record is being imported and it gives error saying record is already in the system. I press "start over" and directory info is already in there so press next, next again and it starts where it left off but sometimes it starts from the last point where the error occured and that gives error saying it is already in there... thanks

Well, I fixed the issue by setting the timeout to 1 second... Now, another problem. I just edited a category and clicked "saved" and it went on to republish everything over again. I plan on editing few more categories... anyway to not publish everytime category is saved/edited? I can't sit through 8500+ records being republished each time a category is edited. I don't like the fact that publishing and republishing the articles(after they are re-edited) issue is still there... what is the use of mysql and more so if perl is still there?

The first time you save _anything_ after upgrading it will publish everything. Next time you save a category it should only publish files that need to be updated, that would be the category files and any articles in those categories (since they might use category placeholders). You can skip all that, however, by just clicking back or stop or anything else once it starts publishing and editing another category. It will remember what needs to be published and publish it next time. It doesn't turn off the "needsPublish" flag until publishing is complete. Hope that helps! Hey Dave, Thanks. I will give another try and see if upgrade goes through smoothly... which it did last time but I guess too much customization messed up the show.
