What was the problem? Some tips on importing faster: - switching to mysql first if you have lots of articles - increase reload time if your server doesn't time out That's under "Admin > Server Settings > Max Process Time" Of course, if it's already running, you might just be better off to go have a coffee and let it do it's thing. :) Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

I get the same error..... except it's in eval121. Error: Invalid filehandle! at (eval 121) line 6, <DATA> line 643. Converted to mySQL before the transfer. Whenever the browser reloads, it seems to stop the process and asks me to start over.

I'm not sure exactly what that is. If you are still having that problem on Monday, I'd be happy to take a look at it. You can fill out a support request form here: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

The problem with this error was when I gave them the location of the folders, I put the "/" at the end. When I removed it, it worked fine.

Thanks Colin.......mine worked the same only I had to add the '/' to make it work. Unfortunately, I am still getting a timeout problem no matter what settings I use. Once the countdown timer at the bottom of the upgrade page reaches zero, it times out.

Are you on shared or dedicated hosting? If you're on dedicated maybe you need to tweak some settings on the server for time outs? Did you try using a different browser? If you stop the browser the process will halt, and will not continue in the background like some other applications do. I'm using Fire Fox and I had no problems with it. It was timing out when I didn't convert to mysql but I had over 4,000 articles and it went pretty fast once it was transfered to mysql

Hello, how do I convert to MySQL before I upgrade? I couldn't find it in the admin! Also, when I try to run the upgrade script, I get the following error although I already upgraded to v1.41: " Data directory doesn't contain v1.41 data files! "

Go to Admin, Database Editor and choose MOVE DATA TO A NEW DATABASE from the drop down menu. As far as the other question goes, I have no idea about it. Maybe someone from IT can answer that.

Hello, thx for the reply. If I understand correctly, I have to "move data to a new database" BEFORE importing the data? Could someone from Interactive Tools please tell me about the other problem I am having not finding the data on my current AM v1.41? Thank you

Yeah. I tried importing before changing to mySQL but it was timing out. I have over 4,000 articles and mySQL was the only way to go.

Hi, The upgrade utility should check correctly that the data file you are importing from is from Article Manager 1.41. This sounds like something we will have to take a closer look at for you. Can you send in a support request with FTP detials so we can find out what is going on: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi Cheers Damon Edis interactivetools.com

Hello Colin, thx for the help. I hope this new AM version will be able to handle very large quantities of articles without using much server resources. I have over 5,000 articles and had to remove the search.cgi as it was causing my dedicated server to run very slowly on busy days! Damon, I just sent the support request as you suggested. Thx a lot!

With SQL, it won't be a problem. Actually I said 4,000 articles, I just checked I'm at 5,076 articles so...we're in the same boat! :)

>If I understand correctly, I have to "move data to a new database" BEFORE importing the data? That's right, switch over to mySQL and then you'll be importing directly into mySQL. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
