Unknown Host errors?

Have AM2 installed on a development server. All working well except, you guessed it, search.cgi On "more, next, prev" articles, I get this error: Error: Unknown host 'queenswood.org.': at (eval 177) line 53, <DATA> line 643. When I try to use the search engine? I get: Error: Unknown host 'queenswood.org.': at (eval 132) line 53, <DATA> line 643. P.S. - because it's a development server, the domain wasn't transferred yet. During development, I modify my hosts file to point requests to www.queenswood.org to 216.246.62.92. Could this be the reason?

Hi there. Thanks for posting! I don't think the problem here is going to be with the fact Article Manager is running on a test server. What I am thinking is it's going to be to do with how your server handles dynamic pages and the things Article Manager does on its dynamic pages. The way we are going to test this out is by you logging into Article Manager and going to Admin. From there, click on General Settings and find the Dynamic SSI and Code Parsing section. For this setting, could you check off the first option (Sever Resolved) and hit save. That should get you going again so try the search engine and those next/previous links to see what happens. Let me know how it turns out . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Thanks Ross, I had the first setting checked already, that's how I get the unknown host issue. If i check the second one (emulated SSI), none of my php includes work (menus and headers just dont show up, no error) and my search results page looks unformatted and just shows the advanced search page, with: [Emulated SSI Error : 'PHP' script files cannot be included with emulated SSI!] where all the includes (category menu, headlines, etc) would be. i've left this setting the way it was, maybe you can take a look if my description isnt clear enough.

Hm. Changed some of the paths in the program settings (folder URLs in Admin > Server Settings > Directories & URLs. Now I get [Server Resolved SSI Error : Server returned a response code of '502' on the following request: http://www.queenswood.org/temp_1166452330000.php ]

Hi whisper, Thanks for your post. That's a little odd -- a 502 is an apache proxy error, so it looks like your server might have a bit of an odd configuration. What I would recommend is dropping us a support request and we can pop in and run some test scripts to find the best way to have this running for you. You can fill out a support request form here: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi Thanks, whisper! I look forward to hearing from you. :) Donna

I get a similar error with search but I know the cause. Just not the fix. I temporarily have my site password protected with .htaccess. When the .htaccess file is present I get the following error when clicking on search. [Server Resolved SSI Error : Server returned a response code of '401' on the following request: http://mysite.com/artman2/publish/temp_1166556174000.shtml ] I get the same error when clicking on the Next Page link at the bottom of the page. Take out .htaccess and the search works fine.

Hi wimberb. Thanks for posting! I actually think you are running into a different problem than whisper. What's happening on your site is that when you have your publish directory password protected, Article Manager needs to know the username and password so it can actually access the files as well. What you'll do here is log into Article Manager and go to Admin. From there, click on General Settings and find the setting for "Publish directory requires login" and check it off. You'll then enter your username and password in the two boxes. Once you are done here, hit save and you should be able to have the .htaccess file in your publish folder again. Does that make sense? Give it a shot and let me know how you make out . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
