Two or more exclusive admin

Is it possible to have two totally exclusive administrators having their own categories, "admin" status is required to adminster their own users without any access to other's domain of adminstration. If this is not possible by conventional approach, is there any way around (trick) to do like that? Will appreciate your reply. almas http://www.st2e.com/

The simplest way to do that would be to have two different installs (if you need another license just give us a call). Other than that, you could have two different editors and limit their access to certain categories, but they wouldn't be able to access the user accounts. The problem with having two admins is they would both have a lot of control over the site so you'd really have to trust them. Even if you could limit their access to user accounts, they'd still be able to mess with a lot of the settings for each others accounts. What exactly are you wanting to do? Are you going to need to be adding users on an ongoing basis? Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

Thanks Dave for your reply. Purchasing a second, third, fourth license will not work either in my view? The application require only "user management" by different competing supervisors who could grow to as many as 100+. You are right, in present admin scope - it will be a mess, because there is no way to seperate just user management from system settings etc. I realized this after posting previous message. May be I can do my required task by creating "fake subcat of a real category but not to be published" for each supervisor and allocate it exclusively to him and his group, what do you think will it be possible? BY THE WAY - I MUST SAY : AM2 is far far superior, flexible and high-end product than AM1. It has great potential, and I am sure it will win over all. You people deserve very high appreciation. Thanks and regards. http://www.st2e.com/

Thanks for your kind words! Makes my day that much better! As for having exclusive categories. Yea, give it a try and see if you can get it to work. It sounds like it might do what you need. The best path is just to experiment a little and try a few different approaches until you find one that works. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
