Top Story feature question

I have a question regarding a Top Story set up. Since top story content varies by post, unless you put it in an IFRAME it will basically screw the whole layout of the page. I've been using it in IFRAME since I started the Top Story feature on the site but I'm sick of watching the scroll bar. Example is at http://www.wrestling-online.com. Is there a way to limit, let's say, the amount of characters to show up on the front page and then there's a "Continue" link or something similar so you can keep the same layout? I was thinking something like CNN.COM keeps their top story feature. Thanks.

Hi ColinW-O, Article Manager does have a function for limiting the amount of characters in your articles, so this should be too tough to set up. In the template used for creating the featured article, you're probably using the $article.summary$ placeholder to display the article's text. You can limit the amount of words this produces by using the "maxWords" placeholder modifier. So instead of using $article.summary$, you would use this, where "NUM" is the number of words you'd like displayed: $article.summary:maxWords(NUM)$ Give that a shot and let us know if you have any other questions about this. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
