Things I Miss From Article Manager 1 Can't Post

While I like Article Manager 2, there are some features that I miss from Article Manager 1, and at least one that worked better in the previous version.
  • Syndication
    • True, RSS is better, and if I had to choose between the two I'd choose RSS, but I'd rather have retained syndication and added RSS.
    • I can live without this one, but not everyone understands RSS.
  • Publish Summary Only
    • I'm not looking for anything fancy, and I hate having to do in a work around what once came standard.
    • I really miss this one, especially in all of the ones that I had first published in Article Manager 1 and which now lead to blank content pages.
  • The old way of doing external links
    • I often link to relevant articles published elsewhere, and in connection with the publish summary only feature.
    • The new way of including external links publishes the link on top of the next category header and confuses the reader, who thinks it's in reference to the next article. I can't use that feature in Article Manager 2 because the placement of the external link doesn't make sense.
    • If we were still had the summary only feature, I could do that in a link following the summary.
    • Without the ability to publish the summary only, I can't think of a use for this one, and certainly not if it inserts the link on top of the next article header.

in case you missed it within the forum, you can do the old-style syndication. I know... It was something that I needed on my site. There are a few steps to getting it set up, but it's really easy.

If it's the same thread that I read, it will allow my current syndicates to continue receiving the feed but will not allow for new people to sign up for syndication in the user-friendly manner of Article Manager 1.

that's true (You hadn't mentioned that part of it earlier)... personally, I'm just glad to be able to keep the functionality.
