Publishing an article takes too long?
Does anybody know why AM 2 is publishing everything each time I try to create/edit an article? My site has over 250 categories and 25 different templates and I have not been able to publish a single article since I upgraded, as it takes more than 80 minutes to "try" to publish everything (it always times out so it has never finished "trying" to publish an article!). Is there a setting I have to change somewhere to tell AM to publish ONLY the article, the category index page and it's category headlines?

Just jumping in here! If you upgrade to 2.02 when you hit save on an article the window that appears has a link to click that will cancel that publish. This is good if you have articles that you want to be in and out of quickly. You can just hit save and then hit cancel publish as soon as the window opens Kind Regards George

I'm responding in the other thread you posted, and your support request, etc. It does make things go quicker if we can keep all the communications in one place. The reason it's likely publishing everything is because everything has never been published. Article Manager keeps track of what needs to be be published and what doesn't and publishing everything new when you save an article. Usually this is a few categories and an article (categories the article was in). But for your site you have 10 times the average number of categories (250) and over 5 times the regular number of publish rules (67) so it's taking longer. I'm having a look right now and we'll see what can do to speed it up for you or make some recommendations on what changes you can make to improve the speed. Additionally, you took your site live before testing your upgrade or got it publishing correctly which is not what we recommend and is going to add to the stress. In any case, we're going to do everything we can to help you out and get it all sorted out. I'm locking this thread so we can keep all the communication in one place. Please email me directly or use the other thread. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
