Placeholders lost!

All our placeholders list is gone! no idea when or how. article manager 2 / admin/ placeholders ... no placeholder is listed, and no option to add any. Have recovered a placeholder template from backup, and uploaded it on top of actual one, but no change. What could have gone wrong? Emmanuel Avargués Maniki Photo & Talent Agency www.maniki.com

Hi Emmanuel, Thanks for contacting us! The "My Placeholders" field setup information is stored in the "settings.dat.cgi" file in Article Manager's /data directory. It's possible that this file may have become corrupted, so you might want to try restoring this file from a backup if you have one available. If you don't have a backup of this file yourself, you can contact your host about this as they may have a copy that you can use. If this isn't an option, you can simply re-create these fields under Admin -> Placeholders to get them working again on your site. Let us know if you need anything else. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Not working... Jake, settings.dat.cgi seems to be fine, as placeholders do appear in it. I have uploaded a backup copy of settings.dat.cgi but no change: still no placeholders listed in admin panel... And no "add" button, only "save" and "cancel" buttons... What should I do? we are desperate!

Hi maksim, Unfortunately I don't recall what the solution was here - feel free to submit a second-level support request as well so that we can investigate this for you: http://www.interactivetools.com/support/ I look forward to hearing from you. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Hi maksim, It looks like your email server is rejecting emails from us, so I thought I'd follow up here. I took a look at your data file, and it looks like lots of HTML was entered into some of the placeholders - enough for an entire web page. What I'd suggest you try before going any further with this problem is to upgrade the software to its latest version. You can find our upgrade page here: http://interactivetools.com/upgrade/ If this still isn't working after upgrading, let us know and we'll take another look. If you do submit another support request, I'd suggest using a different email address. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
