Page struggling to load in IE7

We have a strange problem with a site that struggles to resolve the URL in IE7. It toggles between the IP address and absolute URL a number of times and then eventually loads. We are suspicious of it being a permissions problem or whether there maybe a compatibility issue with IE7. Here is the URL [http://www.beechfieldhouse.co.uk] Could you please take a look and advice? Many thanks

Hi chassa2556, I know we covered this a bit in a support request already. Have you tried to do any research to see if there's a specific bug in IE7 that could be causing this? ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Hi Jake This is now an ongoing issue that we are still trying to get to the bottom of. The server company did an error check for us and its coming up with this message. [Thu Aug 28 11:44:38 2008] [error] [client 82.21.23.52] File does not exist: /home/httpd/vhosts/beechfieldhouse.co.uk/httpdocs/artman2/style, referer: http://www.beechfieldhouse.co.uk/wedding_photos_gallery/index.shtml Could you tell me what the artman2/style file is? It strangely doesn't seem to have a prefix. Is it a CSS file. It repeats this error message for nearly every page it tries to access so we obviously need to put it back. We have used our own CSS that we have put topically in the document to have precedent over your CSS. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance - I'd appreciate your urgent attention on this.

Hi there, Once Article Manager creates the page, it's straight HTML -- as far as the server is concerned, it could have been created by hand. It doesn't know (or care) that Article Manager exists at all. The only place in the page that any reference close to that shows up is: <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www.beechfieldhouse.co.uk/artman2/style/stylesheet.css" type="text/css" /> This file doesn't actually exist. Since everything looks fine without it, you can probably just remove that line from the template. I hope this helps. :) Donna

Hi Donna We are still trying to get to the bottom of this and tried stripping out the offending css http://www.beechfieldhouse.co.uk/artman2/style/stylesheet.css sadly this still doesn't resolve the problem of the page struggling to draw. The client is now starting to lose business and we need to get this sorted very soon. The error log also comes up with this: [Fri Aug 29 06:36:34 2008] [error] [client 67.195.37.188] File does not exist: /home/httpd/vhosts/beechfieldhouse.co.uk/httpdocs/artman2/style [Fri Aug 29 07:03:11 2008] [error] [client 59.5.26.189] File does not exist: /home/httpd/vhosts/beechfieldhouse.co.uk/httpdocs/\xe2\x80\x9dhttp:, referer: http://www.beechfieldhouse.co.uk/ I enclose the error log The problem only seems to manifest itself with IE7 and 6. It flicks from the IP address of the server to the proper URL about 10 times and then eventually draws the page. Could we employ you for some priority consulting to resolve this issue?

Hi there, As I mentioned on the phone, this is actually external to Article Manager, so there's not a lot we can do here. Your hosting provider should be able to help more than we can. Priority Consulting isn't really going to be able to do much, so I wouldn't suggest that. Hopefully your hosting provider can help you get to the bottom of this. :) Donna
