Omit 1st 3 articles in category headlines Can't Post

I'm in the process of setting up my templates for a totally different look to my artist profiles sites. On the Category Index page, I have the latest 3 articles with thumbnail, title and short summary. Below that, I have a list of category headlines which include those 3 headlines as well. What I would like to do is omit the 1st 3 from the headlines but haven't got a clue how to code that on the categoryHeadlines.html page.

Can someone help?

Ok, here's a few ways to do that.

1) If you're just using your category headlines, you could edit that rule in "Publish Rules" and change it to only show results 4 to 10 instead of 1 to 10. Then republish that rule.

2) Another way would be to edit the articleLists/categoryHeadlines.html template and put a templateIf inside the articleRow templatecell that told it not to show results less than 4

<!-- templateCell : articleRow -->
<!-- templateIf : $articleList.currentResultNumber$ >= 4 -->
... template cell content goes here ...
<!-- /templateIf -->
<!-- /templateCell : articleRow -->

3) And a third way would be to create another publish rule that just published headlines 4 to 10. That way you could use your original headlines file for something else.

Would one of those work for you?

That was staring me right in the face [which is quite red at the moment!]... I thought that was going to require hours of recoding and it was just a matter of changing the 1 to 4.

Thanks Dave! It's working quite well. I absolutely love what you can do with am2 and nothing seems to be very hard, even for coding challenged people like myself!!!

Thanks for a great program!
