Link to hidden articles

Is there any way to hide an article, or prevent if from showing in the article list, but still be able to link to it? I have several internal links I need to achieve in a "Summary Only" format, and do not want the article to show in the list on the category page.

Hi, Thanks for posting! I'm curious if you had any other details about how this might be working. Would these articles be something that would be in different categories throughout Article Manager, or would it work to set up one specific category for all of these static pages. If you're able to set up a new category, there should just be a couple of steps to set this up so it'd really work best if it's a possibility for you on your site. I look forward to hearing from you! I think I know where you're going. I could create a new hidden category, and link to the articles that way. They only thing problem is that I thought that might be somewhat cumbersome for the client to try and remember to put it in the hidden category when creating an inline link. To answer your question, it wouldn't matter what category they are in since they will be hidden anyway.

Hi, It's good to hear from you! In this case, you wouldn't actually want to set the category to "Hidden", you'd just want to set it to "Unlinked" (as well as clicking "Hide From Search" if you don't want these articles to show up in the search results). This way the article pages will still be published onto the server and you can still link directly to the articles but the category won't show up in the navigation. The only other thing you'll want to do is modify the publishing rule (Admin->Publishing) called "Global Index". You'll want to look at the Category Filter for this rule, and exclude your new unlinked category so the articles from this category won't show up on the index page. I hope this helps!
