HELP! My website is not found on google

This isn't completely true but we are listed really low and our visitors are down to a trickle since we moved to ArtMan2 about 1 1/2 year ago. Our adsense income has been less then half of what it used to be. We have done everything that we can think of to make it better, but nothing seems to help. We started with adding new and to the point meta descriptions of the content of the pages, we added new, better and more keywords, we added new linkexchange pages, which are well populated by now. It makes no difference whatsoever on google and it has been at least 3 months since we finished updating the site. It looks like google hasn't found any changes since years back. What is happening? What are we doing wrong?

Hi - I'm not sure what your site is, or why its happening, but I am pretty sure its not from artman 2 for two reasons: 1) one of my longstanding sites has been listed with google for years - but google IS NOT my #1 source of traffic. Yes, it changed a little in rankings when I changed to AM2, but I don't think its from that specifically, I had changed my templates as well. My adwords income has grown (a little) - stays mostly steady, but that one site is the key one I have it on. 2) My second site I bought artman for - is not even LIVE yet - and google has already crawled 300+ pages of articles (LOL! Give me a chance already ;) ) Anyway, without knowing what your site is or is about, I would suspect that there's more to it than thinking its artman. (i.e., it may have happened around the same time you switched, but if I recall correctly, around 1 1/2 yrs ago, google did a 'slap' to a lot of people. perhaps that's why you were affected and didn't realize it). Just some suggestions. Amber

thanks for your reply. I am sure it is not the fault of ArtMan2. But I hoped maybe someone else might have had the same experience. What do you mean with 'the slap'. And what can I do about that?

Again, it depends on your site, its topics, etc. Google kind of "slapped" some sites that looked like they were just fodder for the adwords program. (In other words, they didn't have high quality content, just more generated garbage that was for the purpose of earning from adwords). I'm not saying your site has that at all, just explaining what they did. For sites that may not have had big link strategies with other sites, or perhaps had loads of duplicate content, they were penalizing people. Even if sites were totally legit, it affected many in the rankings. Then add to the fact that there are always "spammer" type people and SEO "gurus" who use both white hat and black hat type strategies for top rankings, and it knocks the rest of us who all have legitimate article sites, down in the rankings. Like I said, I suspect probably a combination of factors. One thing you could do (if you aren't already) is make sure google knows where: - your site map is - your rss feeds are AM2 has the RSS feeds automatically. Just more suggestions. I'm not a 'google' expert, I don't earn a ton, just consistent - I didn't experience the slap probably because I wasn't really using adwords 18 months ago. (I know, gasp lol) but that's only because I prefer to sell ads on my own sites :) I usually make far more than with adwords ;) Do some searches on the net for the 'google slap' and I'm sure you'll find some more details on how you can check your site. Thanks Amber, I will do a google on the slap-thing. Our site is completely ligit, with over 1000 articles on Italy, travel, lifestyle, recipes etc. We started in 2000, so it is quite old and we add new articles regularly, new recipes also weekly. Thanks, if I solve the problem I will post it here.

Hi, Thanks for posting! It looks like Amber has some great feedback for you here. One thing I might suggest is getting in touch with Google to see if they have any details about the pages on your site. If they can let you know what's preventing your site from being indexed the way you'd expect, then you should be able to make the necessary changes to your site/server to help get these pages indexed. Let us know how this works out for you! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
