Hi punkgirl, Thanks for your post! Take a look at this forum post by Mike, which shows how to change those links as you described: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=57408;search_string=category%20link%20URL;t=search_engine#57408 You'll want to adjust the publish directory and URL settings under Admin -> Server Settings to point to the root directory of your site rather than /artman2/publish as they are now. Let us know if you need anything else. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

I am trying to do exactly what punkgirl asks, I followed your reference link to this post: Re: [SEScoops] Help With $published.categoryIndex.url$ But it seems that is addressing a category listing (folder) link versus a direct index.shtml page. Am I missing something? Wouldn't I change the code in a different template than the categoryIndex to adjust the SEO-friendly URL rewrite? Help!

Hi vivirito, That forum post is for setting up links so that they do not include "index.shtml" in the link path. Was that what you were looking to do? Could you maybe give me an example of a link that's on your site now, and how you'd like it to appear instead? I look forward to hearing from you. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Sure Jake, thanks for the quick response. I want to make a URL like this: http://www.azhumane.org/artman2/publish/findapet/adoptioninformation.shtml Appear like this: http://www.azhumane.org/findapet/adoptioninformation.shtml So in essence, I'd like to keep the category path and page name, but remove the article manager paths 'artman2/publish' Thanks!

Hi there, You can change the default publish path in the Admin -> Server Settings section. :) Remove the extra paths you don't want, and it'll publish to your document root. :) Donna

A word of advice on building your urls. make sure to at least publish your articles into 1 subfolder like mysite.com/articletopic/article.html We have articles in the root and in folders and it takes a while for our ftp software to open because we didnt know this before. :-( Now if we change the urls we risk losing the indexed pages so starting off on the right foot could go a long way.
