First (Front) Page Content

1) Do articles from other pages or categories have to appear on the "front" page when first entering the AM portion of a site? 2) Is it required to immediately come into a category? An ideal situation for us would be to have a "front" or opening page that had the right side AM generated menu and either a blank page meaning no categories and/or articles listed or maybe just one "statement" about the customer support area. What can be done to accomplish this? Thanks. TnMountainMan

Hi TnMountainMan, You can definitely set up your main page like this. The easiest way to disable any articles from appearing on the main page of your site is to modify the "globalIndex.html" template file directly. You'll want to open this up in a text editor, and strip out all of the code between your articleRow template cells so that the only code remaining is this:
<!-- templatecell : articleRow --> <!-- /templatecell : articleRow --> If you wanted to add in a statement about your customer support area, you could code it on your template before or after that code above. There is another way to set this up so that you could manage your statement text through Article Manager, but it would require quite a few more steps. If you'd rather set it up that way, let us know and we can get you some information on how to do that. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Thanks Jake. I'm having a little trouble attempting to do this. Everytime I delete the content in question and save, the deleted content is still there before I even get a chance to upload it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. TnMountainMan

Hi, Thanks for the details about this! From what you've outlined here, it sounds like the issue is related to the file itself and how you're editing this. If you're deleting content from this file and finding that this text you've removed is still in the file when you upload it, you may want to double check that you're uploading the same file and ensure that there isn't anything in the HTML/text editor you're using that is causing this to happen. Once you're able to modify the template the way Jake described, you should be well on your way with this. I hope this helps! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
