'Filename' value is already in use, please select a different filename! ?

Hello, Previously I asked how to hide the filename field so simple writers do not get confused by naming the pages of the their articles. However, just now when I tried to edit one of the published articles I got this message: " 'Filename' value is already in use, please select a different filename! " I cancelled and tried to do everything all over again but it's the same. I'm not really sure but maybe some other editor is editing the same article as me the same time? is this the problem or is there something else? thanks

Did you recently update your publish rules? There's an issue where if you create a publish rule that publishes with the same filename for one or more articles then you won't be able to create or modify any articles, because when they'll save they'll check to see if any files would be created that already exist, and that publish rule will always create files with the same name. Does that make sense? Check out your article publish rules and make sure they all publish unique files. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com

well my article publish rule is <catNum>/article_<artNum>.<ext> and so far I am able to create new articles just fine. I could not modify this specific article though, that's why I created a new one with the same content and then deleted the old one, this worked fine :) when I hid the filename field I followed these instructions: http://www.interactivetools.com/iforum/gforum.cgi?post=50296 one of the steps includes un-checking the unique field, does that make a problem later on? I really hope that was a one time problem from something I did mistakenly

I think it will be ok. If it's not, let us know and we'll find a way to make it work for you. :) You definitely want to uncheck the unique field, or you'll get a "not unique" error every time you save. Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
