Customizing the Admin Area

Hi, I'd like to apply make some changes to the admin area - namely remove a few features so that writers will find it easier to use for simple purposes. In the article editor I'd like to take out the summary field altogether, and probably hide the date change field as well as the "Featured" option. The site I have developed makes no use of these features. I'd also like to make the search default to "Advanced Search". Is this possible (I really hope it is!) and how? thanks, John.

Hi John Thanks for posting! You actually have complete control over the fields that appear there. All you need to do is log into Article Manager and go to Admin -> Database Editor. From there, click to modify the article table. This is a list of all the fields you have and you can modify all of them. For the some of the ones you are wanting to change here though would need you to scroll down to the bottom and use the Advanced Commands and enable system field editing. Does that all make sense? Give it a shot and let me know how you make out . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
