Custom Article admin templates per category possible?

Is it possible to create custom article administration pages for specific categories? For instance, I want to offer my client an article creation page for "Projects" that is different from an article creation page for "Press Releases." The need for this is due to the fact that the "Press Releases" management page wouldn't need to show all of the fields required for a "Projects" article management page. For instance, my "Projects" article might have fields such as: - Gallery upload field to upload project images - Square footage field - Client field etc... My "Press Releases" article wouldn't use any of the fields above, so I wouldn't want my client to see them when they attempt to enter a new "Press Releases" article (to reduce the page clutter and ease their entry process). Make sense? I didn't see documentation on this, but I'm wondering if there are settings to hide or show fields for each category, or if I can create a custom admin template for a category and offer the client a specific URL that would use that template. Thanks so much in advance, Aaron

I've had something like this on my mind for some time, too. I think there might be a way to do it using the custom html markups that you can make for article fields in the database editor. But I haven't had the time to mess with it yet. (It looks complicated) Any thoughts on this, Artman staffers?

Hi Aaron, Thanks for the post! Theo has actually written a good tutorial on hiding featured articles from certain users in the Article Manager admin section! Although this tutorial deals with featured articles the same idea could be applied for certain article types. :) You can find this tutorial here: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=50470#50470 Give this a try Aaron and if you have any questions please feel free to ask!
