Category Menu right page issues

Well..I've been away from this program just long enough to have lost my grip on it..so need some help.
1) I have a categoryMenuright template for publishing that only pulls select categories into the right sidebar and not into the left sidebar....
2) however, when I wrote an article under the categories on the right...the category published itself in the left sidebar even though it was not selected in the publishing directory to do so.....and it was also on the right
3) any category index page or article page comes out with error in processing on the left sidebar....
4) I want the articles under the categories on the RIGHT sidebar to be their index page ( there will only be one article per right sided category...) but dont know how to code this so it doesnt make the url category/index.shtml

Hi Larrian,
Thanks for posting!
I took a look at your site today but the only problem I noticed is that the links on your right menu aren't working correctly. This is happening because you don't have these categories selected for publishing in your "Category Indexes" publishing rule. If you enable the "Include all categories" setting for this publishing rule, this error should go away.
Were there any other problems here that I might be overlooking?

jake...I fixed some of the problems...however, the publishing rule for categoryMenuRight is to have only 4 categories selected that DONT appear on the left sidebar ( categoryMenu publishing rule).....so how do I get the links to work on the RIGHT side? Then...how do I publish an article under THOSE right sided categories and NOT have them show up on the LEFT side?
