In Article Manager 1 I had a category for the IT Department containing articles with all of our confidential information. We created a directory called IT and had all of these articles published to that directory, which we then password protected. Now I am upgrading to artman2 and I am getting this error when trying to make a change to our IT categories (see attached artman1.jpg): 'Filename' only allows the following characters (A-Za-z0-9_.-) I had the filename as it/cat_index_num I also attached an image (artman2.jpg) of our category list page showing all categories under IT...all of these need to be password protected. How can I resolve this?

Hi dbenson, You can allow the use of those characters by going to Admin -> Database Editor and clicking the "edit table & fields" link for db_category. Using the drop-down menu on the bottom-left part of the page, enable system field editing. Now click the "modify" link for your filename field. On this page you can disable the validation that's preventing you from using those characters. Let us know if you need anything else. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Thanks Jake. This worked. I just ran into another problem, in my articles I'm noticing that commas and quotes are displaying as . How can I fix this? We ran the script at the time of installation, which seemed to be the problem of other posters, and I checked to make sure our templates show encoding=UTF-8. Is there a way for me to resolve this without going through each and every article? Thanks, Dana

Hi Dana, Thanks for the post! From what you've outlined it does seem like this is related to the character encoding though it's a bit tough to see from my end. You'll just want to fill out a Support Request with your FTP details on our site here: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi From there I can have a closer look to see what might be going on with this data. I look forward to your email! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
