Backup Prior to Upgrade

Hello, I am looking to upgrade our AM to 2.0, but before I do, I want to make sure I backup my files correctly. I am creating a system backup via my webhosting control panel. I But I would also like to back all necessary files via FTP directly from the website. Does AM utilize any files other than those that exist in my main public_html folder? From what i can see, there are also no SQL files to back up; please let me know if this is correct. Essentially, downloading all of the directories in my root public web folder should do the job so that if i mess something up, i can quickly revert to the older version and have all of my categories, settings, articles and templates intact -- is this correct? Thank you for the support. LC

Hi, Creating an offline backup is a good idea. When downloading your Article Manager files, include the artman directories and files in your site root and cgi-bin. If you need to restore your older version, you can upload your backup files. An even easier way to is to leave Article Manager 1.41 installed for now. If you need to revert to the older version, simply login to Article Manager 1 and re-publish. After you are sure you have Article Manager 2 setup and publishing the way you want, then you can remove Article Manager 1. Here is a link to the upgrade steps for reference: http://www.interactivetools.com/docs/articlemanager2/install/upgrade.html Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
