Currently my AM2 is set up to be able to insert an article in up to 5 categories. How can I increase this to say 10 categories? Please see attachment for clarification. Cheers. Aussie

Hi, Thanks for the post! Adding a couple of extra categories shouldn't be a problem at all and you'll basically just need to create some extra fields for these additional categories. To do this, you'll want to log into Article Manager, head to Admin->Database Editor and then click "edit table & fields" for "Articles". Next, you'll want to add a new field with these details below, anything I've left out you can just leave as the default: Field Name: categoryXNum (for the first new field you add you'll replace X with 6, the next would be 7, then 8, etc.) Field Type: Custom>> In the second dropdown that comes up after this, you'll want to choose: Article Editor : Secondary Category Database Options - Stored as: integer From here you can click "Save" and you should be able to repeat these steps for as many new categories as you'll need. When you return to the list of fields, you may want to tweak the "Order" field to put your new fields with the existing "categoryXNum" fields. From there you should have the ability to add more than 5 categories for each article. I hope this helps! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Thanks Mike. I followed your instructions and have inserted category6Num, no problems. However when I tried to tweak the "Order" so the new field is grouped with the exsisting categoryNum fields, I am being restricted by another field ("status"), as below:- category2Num category3Num category4Num category5Num status (this is the field that won't move) category6Num next next next etc Everything seems to be working OK. So is this a problem or is it just a neatness thing? Thanks again, Terry Aussie

Hi Terry, Thanks for the update! Because this new field is already set as "Secondary Category" it should already show up in the right spot on your article page so you should be able to leave this the way you have it. If you do want to reorder these fields, just use the dropdown menu at the bottom of this same page (Admin > Database Editor > Table Editor) and select "Enable System Field Editing". Once you've hit "Go" you'll have control over all of the fields here and this will allow you to move the Status field around. You'll just want to ensure you set this back to "Disable System Field Editing" when you're done. I hope this helps! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
