I have a client that has recently been pushing me to work on a better Google ranking. Actually, it'd be nice to get a Google ranking at all! I just picked up Google: The Missing Manual from my local Barnes and Noble last night just for the information they include for improving your Google ranking. Earlier this week I spent quite a bit of time cleaning up my code, and moving a ton of Javascript to an external file. Now I'm looking into the AdWords program for regional marketing. I wasn't even aware that you could target a market by city or region. ---------------- Jesse Kozikowski Webmaster for Direct Line Home Marketing LLC http://www.directlinehomemarketing.com

Jesse, Nice clean and fast site, cool menu system, where's that from? If you're a designer then this site alone puts you in good stead as an advert for you. The secret I have found to a good google ranking is to make sure you get some other good ranking sites linking to you. My site jumped from a 0/10 unadvertised whilst I was setting it up to a 2/10, then 4/10 within just 4 weeks based upon some persuassion of some big companies and other organisations to link to my site. http://www.imagineeringweb.co.uk we've some other urls which also map to the same fixed IP of the site such as http://www.imagineering.gb.com . Regards Martin.

Martin, thanks for the info! I've pointed out to my client that she'll want to get that link out on the web as much as possible. She's been looking into exchanging links with other site, so we'll certainly see how that goes. Unfortunately, some of the companies that have wanted to exchange links are pretty small. I'll be looking into larger ones. The menu system is from http://www.project7.com, and this one's call Menu Magic 1. They've got some pretty cool DHTML stuff there. ---------------- Jesse Kozikowski Webmaster for Direct Line Home Marketing LLC http://www.directlinehomemarketing.com
