XSite Pro Integration Question... Can't Post

Hi,

I have a client already using Realty Manager, but he wants to switch his Web site over to XSite Pro. XSite Pro is a Web design tool that creates search engine friendly pages and allows the owner to update their Web site easily. There are some limitations to the package, however, in that I don't have direct access to all the HTML. Every page in the site uses the same "template." I can add CSS and Javascript to the template, but this affects every page on the site. All pages for a Web site are published to one directory only.

If access to RM is simply through a link to a page on the site that is generated by RM, then I think there will be no problem; I can simply add a link in the navigation that goes to the RM page. But since the RM pages look like the main site in the examples I've seen, that means RM is using a template page from the main site. Correct? If this is simply a matter of inserting RM code into the main body of a page, I can do this, as I do have access to the HTML for the main content "panel" of all pages of the template... and it is unique, of course, unlike the header, footer, right/left panels.

I don't know if this makes any sense... I may need to talk to someone on the phone.

Best regards,
Andrea Wilson

Hi Andrea.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the board!

I really appreciate your interest in Realty Manager so let's go over your questions Smile.

Basically, all the pages that Realty Manager is going to create you will be created based on a set of HTML templates. That means you just need to customize those templates so they look like the rest of your site. If you are already comfortable working with HTML you'll have no trouble with these templates. The thing to keep in mind here is that because you have direct access to all the templates you'll be able to customize every inch of your pages just like you would any other regular html page. We even have a neat little tutorial that will walk you through some simple examples of integration so you get a feel for how it all happens.

From the sounds of it, I think you might have already checked out some of our featured clients, but it's worth it to take another look:

http://www.interactivetools.com/products/realtymanager/clients.html

What you'll find with most of them is that they are going to have a main page for the site. Take My French House for example. They have great index page that welcomes you to the site and lets you do some searching as well as displays a featured listing.

The page itself is actually created outside of Realty Manager as its own standalone index but the search engine you see there hooks right into Realty Manager and the featured listings you see at the bottom are being pulled from Realty Manager. These all of course go to pages created by Realty Manager.

The best part about all this is that we offer free support with all our software and will be here 7 days a week to lend a hand with anything you are trying to setup.

How does that all sound? It would be great to hear from you again so feel free to send me anymore questions you have Smile.

Re: [ross] XSite Pro Integration Question... [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi, Ross,

Thank you for your prompt reply and helping me to understand more about how Realty Manager works. Since I will be able to upload html files to the server, regardless of what is going on in XSite Pro, I am sure Realty Manager will work for my client in this new environment. This will give him what he wants: a professional Web site, a customer management tool (XSite Pro will give him full access to update his site) and Realty Manager working for him just like it is now. That's good news!

We will be working on this project in the New Year, so I'll be back then to find out the details of what I need to do.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Best regards,
Andrea Wilson
