Problems with AM templates and PHP

Hello. I post here because i just havent been able to put PHP scripts into an AM template. (Article Manager 1 and 2, Article Manager 1 solution is desirable, but AM2 is fine too.) Basically i am using several systems, one to manage listings, which is on PHP, another one is a guestbook, which is PHP also and Article Manager which manages all my news needs. I am using a template which uses <?php include>, but also i need to every page to be connected to a mySQL database of the listings, including my Article manager generated pages. I´ve been doing research, and first of all i know that AM can do SSI emulation, or run PHP scripts within itself, yet when i try to generate a page with article manager, i get a "500" server error. I don´t even know what goes wrong, it just doesnt publish the article. I tried to do the virtual_include as explained in the documentation. I´ve also changed <? require> into <? include>. No luck with either of those. Any feedback will be deeply appreciated.

Are your pages saved as PHP or SHTML? If they are not saved as PHP then any PHP code will not be parsed. Bryan Gilchrist

Hi Klarth. Thanks for posting and welcome to the board! As Bryan had mentioned, thanks by the way Bryan , you’ll definitely want to have your Article Manager pages publishing with php extensions if you wanted to have PHP scripts to run. Now, depending on which version of Article Manager you are using, setting the publish extension is a little different so could you let me know which version you are using? I look forward to hearing from you . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
