AM Designs Can't Post

Please help me out.

I would like to know how long it takes to design a simple site using AM2 and if there is coding involved. For those of you paying, how much are you paying?

We have hired someone that designs (mostly html, flash, etc) and they always claim there is coding to do and a programmer is needed. I have done designs myself in AM 1 and never remember doing any coding.

please advise.

Re: [wbkelly] AM Designs [In reply to] Can't Post

THAT is a REALLY open ended question ;-) However...IMHO...

A REALLY simple site shouldn't take you any longer than it takes to install the software and change the default settings on the templetes supplied with AM2! So - say oh...about 20 minutes - if you're taking your time, drinking a cup of coffee etc...

Where it goes from there is up to you - and how complex (read - cool, slick, etc...) you want to get!

A REALLY simple site is my original site just converted to AM2 - it uses mostly the default settings with some minor tweeks on the menus and front end: http://www.kensei-news.com

A little more complex (very little) - is my Las Vegas Site - http://www.lasvegas.tsg.com - hop to the news section.

So, IMHO - tweeking HTML - sure...coding? Programming? IT already did all that ;-)

Ohh I don't know, it depends on what functionality is required. You could have a site with user login, AM handles none of that, and integrating that into an AM template could require coding. So something as simple as that, yes requires a programmer. Polls, forums, some forms, all require coding and a programmer.

True - however, the question was re: a "simple site" - not "simple functionality" ;-)
