Hi - I can't find any posts in the forum relating to this question! Is it possible to achieve partial word matches with Search Engine? e.g. if the word Interactive is on the site (or in an article) and a search was made against the word active then a match would be achieved?? Cheers Kerry Kerry

Hi Kerry, Thanks for the post! I've looked over what you've mentioned about Search Engine's results and this functionality is actually something that is already setup with Search Engine. Search Engine is designed to find the string of characters that are entered in the search so if someone looks for "active" they would get all of the results that include "interactive". I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, just let me know! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Well that's strange ... I should have known that was the situation because I remember now doing partial searches on another site where I had Search manager installed. However, if you go to http://ladydane.tfxweb.com/knowledgebase.shtml and do a search on the word green it will give zero results (this is the word I tried searching on previously) ... I just searched against other partial words and it worked fine! Makes n sense (but then computers often don't to me!) Kerry

Hi - just wondered if you'd had a chance to look at why the partial word search on 'green' wasn't working ...? I just checked a few more possibilities, and I found that a search on the word 'mend' produces no results, yet there is an article with the word 'recommend' in it. Something is not right, but I can't figure what it is! Kerry

Hi Kerry. I have been looking into this some more today and the search results aren’t coming up for me as I would expect either so I was wondering if you could send me a support request: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi That will let me onto your server so I can do some more extensive testing. How does that sound? I look forward to hearing from you . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
