Sorry guys ... hope I'm not a pain, but I have yet another question! I can't get my head around what's causing a particular problem. http://bsip.tfxweb.com Simple search works fine but the I can't get the advanced search working properly. If I select advanced search from the home page and do a search (against anything) I get "page not found". However, if I were to click on GO underneath simple search without putting any search word into the box, I get taken to the advanced search page (which for some strange reason is presented to me without the simple search box....) - whatever search term I enter on that page takes me to the correct search results page but gives me no results (even if I use a word that is definitely in articles) I've tried to figure what I've done wrong, but I simply can't and I just know it's going to be something simple!! Thanks (as usual) guys Kerry Kerry

Hi Kerry, Thanks for the email! It looks like the problem you're running into has to do with the page that you're linking to for your Advanced Search. For the "Advanced Search" link on the index page of your site you'll want to change this: <a href="cgi-bin/Search/Templates/search_form.html" > To this: <a href="http://bsip.tfxweb.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/search.cgi" > From here, rather than linking to the template that your search page uses you'll be linking to the actual search script. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, just let me know! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

OK - now that's all sorted, I think I only have one final thing I'd like to ask a question about! How can I get Search Engine to search against specific categories within Article Manager. I found a couple of articles in the forum which covered this sort of area, but neither of them seemed to provide the solution I need (or think I need!) Basically, in Search Engine I want a pull-down list the allows visitors to search the entire site, search all published articles and search by specific category (as defined in AM). At present I've configured Search Engine for the published articles search (i.e. search only in the artman/publish/ folder) but can't figure out how I can configure it to search against specific top-level categories. Example : top level category in ArtMan is Professional Study Groups ... how can I get Search Engine to return results ONLY for articles that fall into that category? http://bsip.tfxweb.com Thanks as usual :o) Regards Kerry Kerry

Hi Kerry, What you can do is modify each category in Article Manager and tell them to publish their articles into a specific directory on the site, outside of the main publish directory. Then you just go into Search Engine and setup each category so that they search the locations that you set in Article Manager. So tell Professional Study Groups to publish somewhere like this: http://bsip.tfxweb.com/professional_groups/ Then tell the category in Search Engine to search that directory only. I hope that helps explain. But let me know if you need any more details. Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com

It's so simple (and obvious) I should've spotted it myself shouldn't I?! Perhaps I should leave my forum posts until the morning after I've spent a long day in front of my PC and my brain is fried - looking at things with a clear head often helps. Thanks Cliff Kerry
