Hi - I'm currently running 1.09 - do you think I should upgrade? The reason I ask is that I tried to upgrade but got a 500 internal script error when I uploaded the cgi script even though the point to perl was exactly the same as the 1.09 version. Do you think it's worth trouble shooting why the upgrade isn't working or should I just stick with what I have for now? Wendy

Hi Wendy, Thanks for posting. Since v1.12 has improved file system error checking, and filelock handling I'd say it worth doing the upgrade. Try checking the permissions on the scripts in the /exec/ directory and see that they are all set to 755. If that doesn't work could you send me your details through a support request so I can take a closer look into your problem? Thanks Wendy! Hey Cliff - I just tried it again and it appears to be working now - whatever ;( One problem is that for the log-in screen, the images aren't showing up. When I check the source code of the admin.cgi page I see this: http://www.(nameofmysite).com/cgi-bin/search/images/interactivetools.gif/(nameofimage).gif for all the images It's no big deal - just an FYI for you and, if there is an easy fix, I'd like to make it just so I don't see the empty image boxes. Thanks, W

Hi Wendy, I'm glad to hear that you are back on track. It looks like the path to your images directory that you have set is a little off. To fix this, just login to Search Engine and click on Setup Options --> Server. Just make sure that the Images URL is pointing outside the /cgi-bin/. Most servers won't display images in the /cgi-bin/ directory. If you've installed the program under /cgi-bin/ and the images aren't being displayed try uploading all the image files to another directory in the web root under a "/se/" or "/search/ directory. That should fix that up for you! Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com

An alternative to display images in /cgi-bin/search/images is to creat an .htaccess file within the images directory with just this one line in it. AddHandler server-parsed .gif All the gif files with then display (if you want to display the test jpg file then also add AddHandler server-parsed .jpg on a second line) Should work on most servers.
