Remove file or dir from Ignore list

How do you reactivate a file or dir that has been set to Ignore in the Category Editor? I tried to do this by deleting the file/dir from the Ignore List but this didn't work--the file/dir was still ignored when I checked the file list in the Category Editor.

Hi pliinc, Thanks for posting and welcome the forum! You should be able to remove the file or the directory from the Ignore list, so it seems strange to me that if you remove it from the list that it doesn't activate it on the file list. When I tried doing this on a demo on my end it worked just fine. Here are the steps that I took. 1. Login to Search Engine and click on the Ignore List link. 2. Remove the directory, or file from the area that has the 'File prefixes and file paths to ignore (one per line)' and click 'Save' 3. Click on Category Editor --> Files and see if the directory is enabled again. If it's not then I suspect that there may be other factors at play here, so we should get you to submit a support form for us so that we can take a closer look into things. I hope that helps but if you need any more the details just let me know Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com

Thanks for your prompt response. The steps you outlined in your reply was what I was doing but the file/dir remained on the Ignore list when I went to the Category Editor. I have contacted Support, as per your suggestion.

At Pliinc's suggestion, I'm posting an update on this issue and the resolution we found. Often when things can be modified or deleted, it's related to permissions issues. If you're on an apache/unix server, you can usually change permissions easily via FTP. You also want to set the UMASK value in the config file, to make sure that when files are saved or created by Search Engine they will have permissions that allow further edits and changes: - Make sure that the data directory and files have CHMOD 777 as their permissions.
- Open /exec/config.ini and remove the pound (#) from the beginning of line 18, which should now read:
umask = 000 This resolved the issue for Pliinc. If you have similar problems but your server won't let you set your CHMOD settings, you can always fill out a support request and we'll assist you in setting those file permissions. Theo Wiersma Project Manager
