OK.... script comes set with a "default category" which searches the entire site. I changed the "default..." name to "news & information" and modify fiels to search only my AM articles. What I wanted was the form to show 2 choices "entire site" and "news & information" BUT what I discovered is that I can't get rid of the "default category" becuase then the script will make the default my "news & information" category.... right ? Which pput me back to a redundant drop down menu that will read: "enitre site" "default category" "news & info" Other than harcoding the form... ? I don't want a drop down menu that has to repeated choices: "entire site" "default category" (searches entire site) "news & information" Hope I was able to explain. PAt

Hi Pat, I took a quick look at your site. I see that you were able to figure this out so that you now only have "entire site" and "news and info". Hi Ken, actually not. I had to hard code the form and get rid of the "redundant choice" if I leave as is the script will print a drop dow menu as follows: >entire site (I hard coded to read select - but will defautl to entire site if left alone) >entire site (changed from title default category) >news & information (which I created) ----->???? Also Ken, any ideas in my other posting also in the Search forum about "Search Results" ??

Hi Noza, You should actually remove the drop down entry which is named "select" (with value of 0) from your search results template. This is a special case which means search all categories. You will notice that if you choose news & headlines, or entire site, your search results are not duplicated. ---------- Ken Clarke - YAPG (Yet Another Perl Guy :) interactivetools.com, inc.
