Adding categories & Navigation

Hello, I am trying to set up two categories for files under one directory but have a problem. All my files are under one directory. I set up the first category and selected a number of files for it to ignore. The problem is I cannot now have a second category for those files because they are in the ignore list. Can two categories be created to use different files from the same directory? If so, how? Secondly, I have customised search engine templates to an extent and they work well, but how do I add navigation to the results page so that I can offer access back to the previous page in my site? Is there a tutorial or any info available to help with this? Finally, I would just like to say that I am very impressed with Search Engine so far and the tremendous support. Thanks in advance

Hi rossco, Thanks for posting. I'll go over your questions one at a time. 1. I find the best way to ignore an entire directory is to select it through the Category Editor. When you click on Category Editor there is an option for 'Files' If you click on this, you will get a new window that opens up, and it should have a full list of all the files and directories that your category is setup to search. You will see two columns, one with the path to the file or directory, and one for the action. All you need to do is find the specific directory that you want to ignore, and click on the 'ignore this dir' link. The link should disappear and you should see 'directory is in ignore list' after you click this. This works for files and entire directories. Give that a go, and let me know if that is the solution that you are looking for! 2. I'm not really clear on what you have in mind here. Do you want to be able to link back to the list of results after you've reached the page that you are looking for? If you could clarify for me, I'll try and find a way to do what you have in mind. 3. Thanks very much! We do aim to please Regards, Cliff Stefanuk - Customer Service Manager support@interactivetools.com

Hi, Thanks for the reply. 1. I have used this method to set up the first category. The problem is with the second category. All my files are in the one directory with the same html extension. I would like to be able to have 2 categories, each searching different files in the same directory. I have set up the first category with the files I do not want searched in the ignore list - fine, but I cannot then find a way to set up a second category to search the files for that because they are already in the ignore list. 2. I really want to have a navigation button on the search results page that when clicked will return to my original web page where the search was initiated. I suppose ideally to have the search results display in one of my web page templates so that the full list of navigation buttons eg 'home' etc were displayed. Is this possible, or does the user navigate back with his browser button? I hope I've explained myself a little more clearly here Look forward to hearing from you.
