really urgent help!: wysiwyg editor won't save changes

Hi Guys, I'm a newbie, so please excuse the question (and yes, I did do a search of the forums first!). For some reason, I'm able to upload pages and the publish tags work fine, but any changes that are made in the wysiwyg editor don't save. That is, you can make the change and click on "save" but the actual page won't be updated. Nothing changes with it. Here's the strange thing: with my setup, I've got the /pp/ folder and also the cgi-bin (the install was done by Interactivetools.com so I'm going to assume it's correct ). Within that /pp/ directory there is a file pp_test.html. I can update it using the wysiwyg editor without any problems. I thought that it may be a permissions error, but files in the root directory that I'm trying to edit and the /pp/pp_test.html file are all rw-rw-rw or 666. Can anyone help me really quickly? I'm supposed to be meeting with the client tomorrow to show off this great editing software that I can't get to work! Thanks in advance! Lee Mathers lee@reddotonline.com

Hi Lee. Thanks for posting and welcome to the board! I actually think you’ll want to try setting the permissions for pp_test.html to “777”. “666” permissions can sometimes not be enough. Could you try that and let me know how you make out? I look forward to hearing from you . ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Ross Fairbairn - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Turns out it is a permissions error - but how bad is this: The host won't allow people paying for hosting to manage their own permissions. You have to submit a support request to get permissions changed. This means that each time I add a new file, I have to submit a support request to have the permissions changed. They must like creating work for themselves!
