User Uploading Images Can't Post

Hi,

From what I can see so far it seems that the user can only change an image that is already there on the page. My end user wants to update a news page occasionally but wont always need an image with the text. Sometimes she will, so how can I set this up?

Also, is it possible for her to upload the image from browsing images on her hard drive?

Regards,
Dave

Hi Dave,

With the image_select PML tag, you can allow your users to add an image at any time. And, if they don't want it to show, they can simply choose "None" on the dropdown list.

For more information about the image_select PML tag, take a look at this page in the documentation:

http://www.interactivetools.com/docs/doc.cgi?/pagepublisher/tutorial_2.html

An example of the syntax you might use is:

Code
<!-- publish type="image_select" allowupload="yes" uploaddir="" allowremove="no" editalt="yes" rows="2" -->
<!-- /publish -->

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. :)

Re: [Donna] User Uploading Images [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Donna,

I can only seem to change where an image has been put there already by the use of a PML tag, as though editing a fixed template. What my end user might want to do for example is, type a paragraph and then maybe insert an image that is relevant to that text, then type another paragraph and possibly insert an image again, etc. She needs to be able to add images wherever she wants amongst the text. Is this possible?

Kind Regards,
Dave.

Re: [Dave_s] User Uploading Images [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey Dave,

That's currently not a function of Page Publisher... but, Ross has come up with a very nice little addition to Page Publisher to do exactly that. It will be published in the next newsletter (which will be coming out early next week.). If you're not already a subscriber, sign up online and have it delivered to your inbox as soon as it's published. :)

Once the newsletter comes out, give Ross's tutorial a try. If you have any trouble... let us know!
